Got it about a month ago, LOVE it. Make sure you buy a good anti-virus as well, there are a lot of bad ppl on the internet preying for computers such as these.
Unfortunately, I scratched my beautiful laptop very soon after I got it, so be very careful. Overall, very attractive, good-looking laptop.

Very light for a mainstream notebook, great-looking display. Chassis looks and feels cheap, trackpad surface is too tacky. HP bloatware is maddening. Performance was better than expected. Everything worked in Windows 7 RC, nice plus.

I just bought this computer two days ago -- specifically the DV6-1030US. The HP Update tool recommended that I upgrade the BIOS. The error caused the computer to crash permanently. This is happening now, and HP still has the faulty BIOS update on its website.
I'd recommend buying another computer/brand until this problem is resolved. The work around is kind of complex. I would just hate to see you with what the techies call a "brick" -- a computer that won't power on, etc.

The laptop it self works great but the LCD screen is very fragile and breaks very easily. Toshiba will not cover it under warranty and has no warnings on the product or in the directions. Mine broke by simply turning it on a table.

I got my netbook May 28th and on June 10th I was already calling to get it repaired. The computer turns off 30 seconds after I turn it on.
I called the customer service and get someone in India. I sent the product in and when it returned it still dosen't work. Same problem. I don't believe they did anything to fix the problem. I didn't get it to work as soon as it returned.
I have to send it in again. When you call you get someone in India who has to read a script to attempt to fix.
I bought the computer a little over a month ago and have had it work less than 2 weeks.
I feel I should get a new computer or some kind of compensation for all the inconvience I have been through.
I can't afford to lose the 300 dollars I paid.
Can't we have costumer service in this country since people here are unemployed.

My 14 year old son wanted this netbook, and he loves it! He uses it for e-mail, internet, music, and with school starting soon he'll use it even more! It's fast and handy because it's small. It has a bright, clear screen, making it easy to see. It's shiny black and sparkly, and came with a carry case. It's a very beautiful and useful computer. "Hey Ben, how do you like your new netbook?" Decent product however I bought the laptop from BRAVTEK and I got cheated on the deal. He sold me a defective product and refused to fix it. Be careful shopping for laptops and by all means avoid the above vendor.
